These ideas were introduced to me while I was taking history of Africa. My professor brought forth the idea that we had been faithful believers of a religion that had been taught to us by our enslavers. Many people don’t really think about the way in which we learned this religion.

Spirituality Essay. It can be something as simple as looking for a higher meaning to life, or something so complex that one can base their beliefs, religion and overall life around it. There are several different ways to express one's spirituality; rituals, songs, dances, stories, and writings are all common methods of expression.

The definition of eclectic is, “selecting what appears to be best in various doctrines, methods, or styles” (Merriam-Webster, 2015). The definition of spirituality is, “the quality or state of being concerned with religion or religious matters: the quality or state of being spiritual” (Merriam-Webster, 2015).
